DIY Vintage Paper Ornaments, Tags & Gift Bags

Looking for a way to incorporate your love of books into this holiday season?

Using pages from old books we’ll cut, paste, and sew ornaments, gift tags and gift bags! A great way to begin our ‘hand-made holidays’!!!

Holiday Kids’ Craft Fair

Come to the Main Library Children’s Room on December 7th for our Holiday Kids’ Craft Fair! Do some holiday shopping while supporting these young artists.

Paste Paper Luminarias

Brighten these winter days with this luminaria made of oiled paste paper.

They are a thing of beauty on their own, enchanting when a tea light or votive candle lights it from within.

We will be using origami folding techniques. Paper, bone folders, and instructions will be provided. Once the technique is understood and mastered, possibilities for variation are endless.

December 11th, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Gifts from the Hive: Beeswax Cloth Wraps

Reduce plastic use and upcycle your old cotton shirts!

We will melt beeswax into cotton cloth and create a wonderful wrapping for foods and kitchen containers.

Please bring your cotton material, we’ll supply the beeswax.

Choose an old, preferably colorful, buttoned, long-sleeved, 100% cotton shirt. Or… some other 100% cotton fabric (not t-shirt material). We will cut fabric into useable sizes and make a few wraps.
